The Board of Commissioners met in a call session on Thursday, July 23rd.
at 2:00 P. M. with all members present.
Alex Cameron, Chairman, called the meeting to order

The purpose of this meeting was to appoint a tax collector for Harnett
County. All applicants for this position was given a personal interview before
the Board.
Commissioner Barefoot moved, seconded by Commissioner Byerly that all
applicants be considered nominees for the appointment.
Motion carried - And the Chairman called for a vote by ballot
W. Earl Jones, Dunn, was appointed by a majority vote and upon motion by
Commissioner Byrd seconded by Commissioner Byerly that the appointment be
made unanimous and the motion was carried.
Thereupon W. Earl Jones was appointed
to serve for a term ending June 30, 1965.
