May 18th. 1964
The Board of Commissioners met in a call session on Monday
May 18th. at 7:30 P.M. with all members present. Also present were
the County Attorney, the Auditor and the Clerk to the Board.
Alex Cameron, Chairman, called the meeting to order.
The Board discussed the Tax Ratio and Tax Rate in the valuation of
property in Harnett County for year 1964.
John Aaron Senter, Mayor of Lillington, was present and suggested that
the Board set 50% ratio for the year 1964.
P. L. Campbell, of Angier, was also present and suggested a 60% ratio
for Harnett County.
Commissioner Byerly moved, seconded by Commissioner Brock, that the
ratio of 60% be set for the year 1964.
Motion carried.
Commissioner Byerly moved, seconded by Commissioner Byrd, that the
tax rate be set at $1,15 for the year 1964.
Motion carried.
The Beard of Commissioners will meet on Tuesday, May 25th. at 7:00
P. M., and will sft as a Board of Equalization and Review.
