07281969Special Meetj,ng - July 28, 1969 Special Meeting Joint Meeting HCBOC & HABDC PURPOSE OF MEETING Sri The Harnett County Board of Commissioners met in special session Monday, July 28, 1969. This was a joint meeting with the Harnett Agri- Business Development Commission. Those present were Messrs. M. H. Brock, Chairman, Board of Commissioners, D. P. Ray, Jr., Vice Chairman, C. E. McLamb, Member and Gilbert Brown, Member; absent, Mr. W. J. Cotton, Jr., Member. Attending from the Harnett Agri- Business Development Commission: D. W. Denning, Jr., Acting Chairman, H. Douglas Moore, Vice Chairman, W. Guyton Smith, Member; absent, Mr. Alex Cameron. Also present, Dr. Grover C. Pate, Jr., Gerald Arnold, County Attorney and Herbert D. Carson, Jr., Clerk to the Board. Continuing of the called meeting adjourned on July 21, 1969. Chairman M. H. Brock presided. DRDER OF BUSINESS Item 1. Mr. Brock introduced Dr. Grover C. Pate, Jr. to members of the Board and welcomed him to the meeting. Item 2. Mr. Brock declared the meeting open for nominations to fill the existing vacancy on the Harnett Agri- Business Development Commission. Mr. D. P. Ray, Jr. placed in nomination Dr. Grover C. Pate, Jr. and moved his election. There being no further nominations, Mr. Brock declared the nominations closed. The motion was seconded by Mr. C. E. McLamb, voted upon and carried unanimously. Dr. Pate was declared elected to serve on the Commission as the representative of Mr. Ray for a period of one year. ESOLUTION Item 3. ARNETT AGRI- Mr. Gerald Arnold, County Attorney,presented a resolution relative USINESS DEVELOP -to the status of the Harnett Agri.- Business Development Commission ENT COMMISSION for consideration. After discussion and revision of certain stipulations, Mr. Arnold was instructed to present the resolution for adoption at the August 4 regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners.
