The Harnett County Board of Commissioners met in Special Session on Wednesday,
June 1, 1988, in the Commissioners Room, Lillington, North Carolina, with the
following members present: Bill Shaw, Rudy Collins, Mack Reid Hudson, Mayo
Smith, and Chairman Lloyd G. Stewart presiding. Other present included:
Vanessa W. Young, Clerk to the Board; Dallas H. Pope, County Manager; and Kay
S. Blanchard, Recording Secretary.
Chairman Stewart called the meeting to order at 7:15 p.m.
Commissioner Shaw offered the invocation.
Dallas H. Pope, Budget Officer, presented the proposed Harnett County
F.Y. 1988 -89 Budget to the Board. Mr. Pope explained in detail a summary of
the proposed budget and stated that the Board would not consider the adoption
of the budget at this time. He explained that the General Statutes require
that the budget, after its presentation, is to lay open for public inspection
in the Office of the Clerk to the Board for ten days; after which, a public
hearing will be held on the proposed budget. After the public hearing, the
Budget Ordinance will be presented to the Board for consideration.
There being no further business, the Harnett County Board of Commissioners
Special Meeting of June 1, 1988, duly adjourned at 7:30 p.m.
