PUBLIC COMMENTS
On June 15, 1987, the Harnett County Board of Commissioners held a public hearing
concerning the Secondary Road Construction Program for F. Y. 1987 -88 with the follow -
members present: Bill Shaw, Rudy Collins, Mack Reid Hudson, Mayo Smith, and Chairman
Lloyd G. Stewart presiding. Others present included: Dallas H. Pope, County Manager
Vanessa W. Young, Clerk to the Board; Glenn Johnson, County Attorney, and Kay
Blanchard, Recording Secretary.
Chairman Stewart called the public hearing to order at 7:10 p.m.
Mr. B. B. Isom, District Engineer with NC Department of Transportation explained the
purpose of the public hearing was to receive public comments concerning the proposed
1987 -88 Secondary Road Construction Program for Harnett County. Mr. Isom presented
the proposed 1987 -88 Secondary Road Construction Program to the Board and explained
the projects included in the Program.
Chairman Stewart opened the meeting for public comments.
Mr. Harold Johnson and Mr. Bryant Keith, both of Rt. 1, Lillington, spoke in support
of the paving of SR 1517 which appears as priority no. 2 for the 1987 -88 Road Con -'
struction Program for Harnett County.
Ms. Pat McKee, Rt. 3, Lillington, requested information regarding when road priority
changes will be scheduled. Mr. Isom informed Ms. McKee that road needs are reval-
uated and a new priority list is established every two years.
