PUBLIC HEARING CONCERNING RIVERSIDE COMMUNITY, MAY 4, 1987
On May 4, 1987, the Harnett County Board of Commissioners held a public hearing
concerning Riverside Community Development Block Grant Project with the following
persons present: Bill Shaw, Rudy Collins, Mack Reid Hudson, Mayo Smith, and
Chairman Lloyd G. Stewart presiding. Others present included: Dallas H. Pope,
County Manager; Vanessa W. Young, Clerk to the Board; Glenn Johnson, County Attorney
and Kay Blanchard, Recording Secretary.
CALL TO ORDER Chairman Stewart called the public hearing to order at 9:00 a.m.
PURPOSE Skip Green, Grants Consultant, appeared before the Board and explained the purpose
of the public hearing stating that an amendment was needed to the Community Develop-
ment Block Grant original dated April 17, 1985. The amendment application is for
Riverside Water Improvements in the amount of $528,400. Local Option Activities
amount is $128,000 making a total of $656,400.
PUBLIC COMMENTS Chairman Stewart opened the meeting for public comments, pro or con regarding this
matter. No one came forward to speak pro or con.
CLOSED PUBLIC Chairman Stewart closed the public hearing at 9:10 a.m.

of the public hearing stating that an application was needed to apply for Community
Development Block Grant for the Shawtown community in the amount of $346,917;
Local Option Activities amount $61,220 making a total of $408,137.

matter. No one came forward to speak pro or con.
