The Harnett County Board of Commissioners met in special session on Thursday,
March 31, 1983, in the Commissioners Room, County Office Building, Lillington,
North Carolina, with the following members present: Lloyd G. Stewart, M. H. Brock,
Bill Shaw, Rudy Collins, and Chairman Jesse Alphin presiding. Vanessa W. Young,
Clerk to the Board, and Robert Morgan, County Attorney, were also present.
Chairman Jesse Alphin called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m.
Commissioner M. H. Brock led the morning prayer.
Commissioner Shaw moved for the adoption of the following resolution concerning
Anderson Creek Rescue District, Commissioner Stewart seconded the motion and it
carried:
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PUBLIC HEARING ON CREATION OF
ANDERSON CREEK RESCUE DISTRICT
Resolved that the report on the Anderson Creek Rescue Service District
having been filed with the Clerk to the Board on February 21, 1983, and a public
hearing having been set for March 24, 1983, and having been cancelled by reason
of inclement weather, and a public hearing be and the same is hereby reset for
May 2, 1983, at 8:00 p.m. at the Anderson Creek Fire Station on S.R. 1121 in the
Anderson Creek Community; and that notice of said hearing be sent to each owner of
property in the proposed district as shown by the County tax records as of January
1, 1983, at least four (4) weeks prior to the hearing by the tax supervisor;
that notice of the hearing be published in the Harnett County News at least once
not less than one week prior to the hearing; further that the Clerk to the Board
obtain an Affidavit of Publication from the editor of said paper and that the
tax supervisor certify to the Board of County Commissioners of Harnett County on
or before said hearing that this mailing to owners of property in said district
has been completed.
The Form of said Notice shall be as follows:

NOTICE
TO OWNER OF PROPERTY IN THE ANDERSON CREEK TOWNSHIP WHO ARE WITHIN THE
BOUNDARIES OF THE PROPOSED ANDERSON CREEK RESCUE SERVICE DISTRICT.
Take notice that a hearing will be held on the 2nd Day of May, 1983, at
8 O'Clock P.M. at the Anderson Creek Fire Station on State Road 1121 in the
Anderson Creek Community, for the purpose of hearing matters relevant to the
creation of a rescue service district.
A map of the proposed district is attached or appended to this Notice.
The boundaries of the proposed Anderson Creek Rescue Service District
encompass the entire Anderson Creek Township.
A report entitled: "Report: The Anderson Creek Rescue District" was filed
with the Board of Commissioners of Harnett County, on the 21st day of February,
1983, and is available for public inspection at the Office of the Clerk to the
Board of Commissioners.

M. H. Brock informed the Commissioners that the dates for the Board of Equalization
and Review meetings have been set for April 28, May 12, and May 19, 1983.
The Board rescheduled the first Monday meeting in April to Tuesday, April 5, 1983,
because Monday is a holiday for County employees.
There being no further business, the Harnett County Board of Commissioners
meeting duly adjourned at 10:00 a.m.
