Dear Mr. Aiken,
ATC visited the above referenced site to observe and evaluate foundation soils for Lot 23. At the time
of our visit, building pad construction was complete and footing excavation was in progress. The pad
appears to have little fill with footings bearing mostly on residual soils.
Using a '/ inch diameter steel probe rod, ATC probed soils at bottom of footing elevation. In addition,
ATC performed hand augers and Dynamic Cone Penetrometer Testing (ASTM STP 399) at the four outer
comers if fill was present. ATC performed DCP testing at 1 foot intervals down to satisfactory residual soils
or maximum depth of 5 feet below finish pad elevation.
Results, at areas and elevations tested, indicated soils have sufficient bearing capacity to support a
foundation designed for a net allowable bearing capacity of 2,000 pounds per square foot (psf)
