Re: Harnett County Land Use Application # 13 -5 -32143
Soil and site evaluation report by Southeastern Soil & Environmental Associates, Inc.
Mr. Hodges,
In response to the land use application (13 -5- 32143) for the acquisition of a utility easement, a site visit
was made to the Ray Rd. property on October 7, 2013. Based on the assessment of the property and
available information, it has been determined that the proposed utility easement would encroach on the
septic system that serves the residence at 2153 Ray Rd.
If the easement were acquired it would create a new property. This new property would be subject to
"Laws and Rules for Sanitary Sewage Collection, Treatment, and Disposal, 15A NCAC 18A. 1900."
Currently, there are two homes on the property, and both utilize separate septic systems. If the easement
were acquired, each home would require areas for new drain fields and repair areas. In my assessment,
there is insufficient space to allow for the new drain field and repair areas.
Please contact me at (910)- 893 -7547 If you have questions or need further information.
Sincerely,
Bryan McSwain, R.E.H.S.
