Minutes of Special Meeting (Optional Work Session)
August 30, 2001
The Harnett County Board of Commissioners met in special session on Thursday,
August 30, 2001, in the Commissioners Meeting Room, County Administration
• Building, 102 East Front Street, Lillington, North Carolina.
Members present: Teddy J. Byrd, Chairman
Beatrice Bailey Hill, Vice Chairman
Dan B. Andrews
Tim McNeill
Commissioner Walt Titchener was absent.
Staff present: Neil Emory, County Manager
Wm. A. (Tony) Wilder, Assistant County Manager
Kay S. Blanchard, Clerk to the Board
Chairman Byrd called the meeting to order at 11 a.m. and called on County Manager
Neil Emory. Mr. Emory reviewed the proposed format for this and upcoming work
sessions stating that he will note current activities in various departments as well as
new and ongoing County projects and issues. Following will be discussion by the
Board and introduction of new items.
The Board of Commissioners and staff discussed the items listed below.
- Office space for Cooperative Extension and Finance Office
- Personnel — employee survey reviewed
• - Board of Elections — update suggested
Redistricting of Harnett County commissioners/Board of Education
members' districts
- Facilities fees — furniture for new courthouse
- Proposed Senate redistricting plan
There being no further business, the special meeting adjourned at 12:15 p.m.
