Dear Mr. Johnson,
The "Overhills Cottage" plan being constructed in Harnett County, North
Carolina was reviewed to address the garage door header configuration.
Analysis revealed the (2) 13/4" X 117/8" LVL header does not need to be
continuous from comer to comer in the Harnett County wind zone. It may
terminate at each end into the king studs and be supported by a minimum of two
jacks at each end. This configuration will provide the required support for all
applied loads.
