At the time of our visit, building pad construction and footing excavation were complete. In addition the contractor had placed concrete for footings and slab on grade. According to the contractor soils at bottom of footing and slab subgrade were observed to be satisfactory by the county inspector. ATC performed hand auger and DCP testing at the four corners just outside of the building envelope. ATC performed DCP testing at 1-foot intervals down to satisfactory residual soils or a maximum depth of 5 feet below finish pad elevation. Results, at areas and elevations tested, indicated that soils are satisfactory to support a foundation designed for a net allowable bearing capacity of 2,000 pounds per square foot (psf) Respectfully, ATC Associates of North Carolina, PC E8816..
