The beam has been damaged in transport. It appears that a forklift has scarred the bottom of 2- ply LVL of the beam. This damage is approximately mid-span and is approximately 2-1/2" wide x 10" long x 1/8" deep. Although this beam is designed to only 85% of its design capacity, I have recommended that the beam be packed out with a 3/W OSB with a 2 rows on nails at 6" o/c.
