At the time of our visit, building pad construction and footing excavation were complete. Using a % inch diameter steel probe rod and Dynamic Cone Penetrometer in accordance with ASTM STP 399, ATC tested soils at bottom of footing elevation. In addition ATC performed hand auger and DCP testing at the four corners of the proposed building. ATC performed DCP testing at 1-foot intervals down to satisfactory residual soils or a maximum depth of 5 feet below finish pad elevation. Results, at areas and elevations tested, indicated that soils are satisfactory to support a foundation designed for a net allowable bearing capacity of 2,000 pounds per square foot (psf), with exception of the front half of the right side perimeter and right half of the front perimeter. ATC recommended and observed removal of approximately eight inches of soft soils down to satisfactory material. Contractor may bacidill with #57 washed stone or extra concrete.
