RESOLUTION REQUESTING FUNDS FROM THE LEGISLATIVE CONTINGENCY
FUND FOR CAMPBELL UNIVERSITY'S APPLICATION
WHEREAS, Campbell University has received provisional accreditation for establishment of a
new School of Osteopathic Medicine; and
WHEREAS, Campbell University has committed $60 million for this project, and will 150
medical students beginning in August 2013; and
WHEREAS, Harnett County supports this initiative and is working cooperatively with Campbell
University officials to secure grant resources from various sources to augment this
endeavor; and;
WHEREAS, NC Department of Transportation is currently reviewing the highway access and
median requirements to facilitate safe access to the medical school campus, there exists a
$200,000 project shortfall.
WHEREAS, the cost opinion to complete this access is $200,000.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the Harnett County Board of.
Commissioners that a request for funding from the N.C. General Assembly's legislative
contingency fund be made in the amount of $200,000.
