THAT, WHEREAS, Deputy Timothy Brooks Stewart has been the
handler for Canine Ronny since 2005; and
WHEREAS, with over six years of distinguished service to
Harnett County, Canine Ronny has been recommended for retirement by
Lillington Veterinary Clinic; and
WHEREAS, Deputy Timothy Brooks Stewart has expressed an
interest that Canine Ronny be released to his care for the
remainder of Ronny's life; and
WHEREAS, North Carolina General Statute 160A -267 permits the
Harnett County Board of Commissioners to authorize the disposition
of property valued at less than Thirty Thousand Dollars
($30,000.00) by private sale;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Harnett County Board of
Commissioners that Canine Deputy Ronny is hereby retired and is
declared surplus to the needs of County of Harnett and is hereby
awarded to Deputy Timothy Brooks Stewart for one dollar ($1.00).
Duly adopted this 20th day of June, 2011.
