THAT, WHEREAS, the Boy Scouts is an organization which has long helped
shape the lives of young people across America; and
WHEREAS, this organization is dedicated to developing the future leaders of our
communities and our nation; and
WHEREAS, the Boy Scouts recognize their highest achievers by recognizing
them as an Eagle Scout; and
WHEREAS, this award is only presented to those individuals who demonstrate a
commitment to self - improvement as well as service to their community.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Harnett County Board of
Commissioners does hereby recognize Steven J. Turnage and congratulate him for
attaining Eagle Scout.

achievement of Steven J. Turnage in receiving the rank of Eagle Scout on
September 23, 2008. He is in Troop 711, sponsored by First Presbyterian
Church of Dunn.

In honor of this achievement, an Eagle Scout Court of Honor has been
scheduled for Steven on Sunday, August 2, 2009, at 3:00. It will be held at
the First Presbyterian Church in Dunn. Steven, his mother, and I would be
greatly honored if you could attend the Court of Honor. Your presence
would greatly add to Steven's receiving his Eagle Scout award.
Thank you for taking time to help this community and troop recognize
the personal achievement of Eagle Scout Turnage.
