A RESOLUTION HEREIN FORMERLY REQUESTING
THAT THE NORTH CAROLINA DEPARTMENT OF
TRANSPORTATION REVIEW AND CONSIDER THE NEED
FOR A REDUCTION OF SPEED LIMIT ALONG A PORTION
OF US HIGHWAY 401 IN HARNETT COUNTY
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF
HARNETT COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA that a formal request is being made to petition the
North Carolina Department of Transportation to review and consider a reduction of speed limit
from 55 miles per hour to 45 miles per hour along a portion of US Highway 401 in Harnett
County. The portion of US Highway 401 within which the request is being made shall be identified
as following the dedicated right -of -way of the facility from 1,200 feet North of the intersection of
McNeill Hobbs Rd (State Road 2072) and continuing South to the location of the existing 45 miles
per hour speed limit location in the Bunnlevel area of Harnett County. See "Attachment" for a map
of the physical description of the location of the petition area provided herein.
Duly adopted this 7`s day of December, 2009 and effective upon adoption.
