RESOLUTION OF RECOGNITION
Colonel Gyula Hautzinger
WHEREAS, Gyula Hautzinger is a retired Colonel in the Hungarian Army; and
WHEREAS, Colonel Hautzinger is married to the former Csilla Gonczi and has a daughter
Dora and a son Zoltan as well as four grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, Colonel Hautzinger earned a PhD and was assigned as a Senior Research Fellow
in the Office of Security and Defense Studies in the Hungarian Ministry of Defense; and
WHEREAS, Colonel Hautzinger served the President of The Republic of Hungary as a military
aide; and
WHEREAS, Colonel Hautzinger is a recognized expert on NATO and has served the Hungarian
Defense Staff as a Liaison Officer to HQ, NATO SACLANT in Norfolk, Virginia; and
WHEREAS, Colonel Hautzinger has earned many prestigious and important awards to include
the National Order of Merit from the Country of France as well as the US Army Commendation medal;
and
WHEREAS, Colonel Hautzinger distinguished himself by serving with honor alongside US
Forces in Iraq as the Chief of Logistics for the Multinational Division.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it known that the people of Harnett County, North Carolina, USA do
hereby recognize and thank Colonel Hautzinger and his family for their selfless service in the Global
War on Terror and for their valued friendship. In this time when radical extremism threatens the very
freedom that all Americans hold dear, we truly recognize that you cannot have too many true friends.
