THAT, WHEREAS, the University of North Carolina Tar Heels basketball ph: 910 -893 -7555
program has long been recognized as a perennial power in college basketball; and fax. 910-814-2662
WHEREAS, the program has also been noted for its ability to succeed while
maintaining a program dedicated to academic excellence and the overall development of
young men; and
WHEREAS, this tradition continued in the current season under Coach Roy
Williams; and
WHEREAS, this commitment resulted in the Tar Heels claiming college
basketball's greatest prize.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Harnett County Board of
Commissioners does hereby recognize and congratulate the North Carolina Tar Heels for
winning the 2005 NCAA Division I Basketball Championship and does hereby commend
Coach Williams, his players, and his staff for this significant accomplishment.
