HARNETT COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA
A RESOLUTION AMENDING THE HARNETT COUNTY ZONING ORDINANCE TEXT
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of Harnett County adopted a Zoning Ordinance on July 18, 1988
for die purpose of promoting die health, safety, and general welfare of the county residents: and
WHEREAS, this ordinance was adopted under authority granted by the General Assembly of the State of
North Carolina particularly G.S. 153A -340: and
WHEREAS, the Zoning Ordinance contains provisions for amending said ordinance and those provisions
have been followed: and
WHEREAS, the Harnett County Planning Board has reviewed the amendment to Article VI, Sections 4.2.
5.1, 6.1 and 7.1 and Article XV of the Zoning Ordinance and recommends the adoption of the following
amendment.
NOW. THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF HARNETT
COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA that Article VI, Sections 4.2. 5.1. 6.1 and 7.1 and Article XV of the
Zoning Ordinance be amended by deleting Article VI, Sections 4.2, 5.1, 6.1 and 7.l and Article XV and
adding the new text as follows:
Article VI Zonine Districts and Resulati2r s, Sections 4.2 -H. 5.1 -1, 6.1 -L and T 1 -1:
Recreational vehicles and travel trailers parked or stored in rear or side yard of any lot: provided
that no living quarters shall be maintained, nor any business conducted therein while such
recreational vehicle at travel trailer is se parked or stated (not subject to tot requirements).
Article XV Definitions:
Recreational vehicle: A vehicular, portable structure without permanent foundation that can be
towed. Imuled or driven and is designed for travel. recreation or vacation purposes. It is not
designed to be used as a permanent dwelling unit.
Travel !mile: A vehicular, portable structure built on chassis. designed to be towed by an
automobile or similar vehicle for travel, recreation er vacation phuposes. It is not designed to be
used as a permanent dwelling unit.
Duly adopted this 15th day of March, Nineteen Hundred and Ninety Nine and effective upon adoption.
