01/06/03 Water Supply Watershed Text Amendment Art 200 Sec 204HARNETT COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA A RESOLUTION AMENDING THE HARNETT COUNTY WATER SUPPLY WATERSHED MANAGEMENT AND PROTECTION ORDINANCE WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of Harnett County adopted The Harnett County Water Supply Watershed Management and Protection Ordinance on November 15, 1993. WHEREAS, this Ordinance was adopted under authority granted by the General Assembly of the State of North Carolina, particularly G.S. 153A -340; and WHEREAS, the Harnett County Planning Board has reviewed the proposed amendment to Article 200 Development Regulations, Section 204 Buffer Areas Required of The Harnett County Water Supply Watershed Management and Protection Ordinance and recommends the adoption of the following amendment. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF HARNETT COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA that Article 200 Development Regulations, Section 204 Buffer Areas Required of The Harnett County Water Supply Watershed Management and Protection Ordinance be amended by deleting Article 200 Development Regulations, Section 204 Buffer Areas Required and substituted as follows therefore: 200 Development Regulations, Section 204 Buffer Areas Required Within the WS -IV -PA Watershed District, a minimum of a one hundred (100) foot vegetative buffer for development activities that exceed the low density standards as established in this ordinance is required along all perennial waters indicated on the most recent versions of the U.S.G.S. 1:24,000 (7.5 minute) scale topographic maps, otherwise a minimum of thirty (30) foot vegetative buffer is required.
