Minutes of Joint Meeting with the Harnett County Board of Education
February 2, 1999
The Harnett County Board of Commissioners met in joint special session with the .
Harnett County Board of Education on February 2, 1999, in the DSS Building, Harnett
County Governmental Complex, Lillington, North Carolina.
Members present: Dan B. Andrews, Chairman
Beatrice Bailey Hill, Vice Chairman
Joseph T. Bowden
Teddy J. Byrd
Walt Titchener
Staff present: Neil Emory, County Manager
Wm. A. (Tony) Wilder, Assistant County Manager
Kay S. Blanchard, Clerk to the Board
Chairman Andrews called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.
Bobby Beasley, Superintendent of Harnett County Schools, presented a brief overview
of current school needs and introduced the presenters.
Ray Taylor, ORlED Laboratories, presented projections of growth of school
populations in the County and made recommendations regarding the building of new
schools and suggested locations for the recommended new facilities.
Robbie Ferris, Architect, presented an analysis of current school facilities in the .
County.
After discussion by the two Boards and staff, Commissioner Byrd moved for
adjournment. Commissioner Hill seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.
The joint meeting of the Harnett County Board of Commissioners and the Harnett
County Board of Education duly adjourned at 9: 15 p.m.
