HARNETT COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

The Harnett County board of Commissioners met in special session on May
7, 1998. The meeting was a joint budget work session with the Board of
Education and was held in the Commissioners Meeting Room, County Office
Building, Lillington, North Carolina.
Members present: Dan B. Andrews, Chairman
Beatrice Bailey Hill, Vice Chairman
Joseph T. Bowden
Teddy J. Byrd
Walt Titchener
Staff present: Neil Emory, County Manager
Wm. A. (Tony) Wilder, Assistant County Manager
Kay S. Blanchard, Clerk to the Board
Chairman Andrews called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. and
Commissioner Byrd offered the invocation.
Harrington Morrison, Chairman, Board of Education, called its meeting to
order and stated that the purpose of the special joint meeting was for
presentation of Harnett County Schools FY 1998-99 proposed budget and
review of line items in the budget. Bob Beasley, Superintendent,
Harnett County Schools, led the review of budget items in a work session .
format.
There being no further business, Commissioner Byrd moved for
adjournment. .Commissioner Bowden seconded the motion and it passed
unanimously. The joint meeting of the Harnett County Board of
Commissioners and the Harnett County Board of Education, May 7, 1998,
duly adjourned at 8:45 p.m.
