Special Board Meeting
December 19, 1997
The Harnett County Board of Commissioners met in special session on Friday,
December 19, 1997 in the County Manager's Office, County Administration .
Building, 102 East Front Street, Lillington, North Carolina.
Members present: Dan B. Andrews, Chairman
Joseph T. Bowden
Teddy J. Byrd
Walt Titchener
Staff present: Neil Emory, County Manager
Wm. A. (Tony) Wilder, Assistant County Manager
Dwight W. Snow, County Attorney
Vanessa W. Young, Finance Officer
Kay S. Blanchard, Clerk to the Board
The meeting was scheduled for 11:30 a.m. However, there was a delay in
calling the meeting to order due to waiting for the representative of the
Democratic Executive Committee to arrive. Chairman Andrews called the meeting
to order at 11:40 a.m. and stated that the purpose of the special meeting is
to consider appointment of a Register of Deeds to replace Register of Deeds
Gayle P. Holder who resigned.
A. J, Stephenson, Chairman, Harnett County Executive Committee, presented a
letter from that committee nominating Kimberly S. Hargrove to be the Harnett
County Register of Deeds.
Commissioner Bowden moved to appoint Kimberly S. Hargrove Harnett County
Register of Deeds. Commissioner Titchener seconded the motion and it passed
unanimously.
Mrs. Hargrove will be sworn in Monday, December 22, 1997.
There being no further business, Commissioner Byrd moved to adjourn, .
Commissioner Bowden seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. The
Harnett County Board of Commissioners special meeting, December 19, 1997, duly
adjourned at 11:45 a.m.
