HARNETT COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
Minutes of Special Session
February 10, 1997
The Harnett County Board of Commissioners met in special session
on Monday, February 10, 1997, in' the DSS Building at the
Governmental Complex, Lillington, North Carolina.
Members present: Dan B. Andrews, Chairman .
Beatrice Bailey Hill, Vice Chairman
Joseph T. Bowden
Teddy J. Byrd
Walt Titchener
Staff present: Neil Emory, County Manager
Vanessa W. Young, Finance Officer
Kay S. Blanchard, Clerk to the Board
Chairman Andrews called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. The
purpose of the special meeting was to meet with the Board of
Education in a work session format. The two boards reviewed and
discussed the following items:
1. Capital Program Update
A. Current Projects
B. State Bond Issue/Projects
C. Future Needs
II. Current Expense
A. 1996/97 Overview
- Low Wealth E,xpendi tures
- Supplemental Funding Status
B. 1997/98 Overview
- Budget Process/ADM Funding
- Low Wealth Legislative Change
- Supplements
No action was taken by either board. Both boards agreed that .
follow-up meetings involving both boards should be scheduled on a
regular basis. There being no further business, the Harnett
County Board of Commissioners Special Meeting, February 10, 1997,
duly adjourned at 9:00 p.m.
