RE: Special Inspections Final Report - Spray-Applied Fire Resistive Materials
Harnett Health Complex
Lillington, North Carolina
KAM Project Number 11-0114
Gentlemen:
KAM Engineering Services, P.C. has completed the materials testing services for the above stated project.
This Special Inspections Final Report is intended to confirm that KAM Engineering was present periodically
during the installation and curing process for the Spray-Applied Fire Resistive Materials (SFRM). A series
of six (6) tests were performed by our staff to provide a random sampling for the SFRM that was applied to
the structural steel at the project site. It is our opinion that the test locations were representative of
workmanship of the remainder of the un-tested elements.
Our thickness and density testing was performed in general accordance with ASTM E-605, while our bond
strength testing was performed in general accordance with ASTM E-736. At the time of testing, test results
indicated that the thickness, density and bond strength of the SFRM materials were installed in general
accordance with the approved project plans and specifications, and applicable workmanship of the
International Building Code.
Respectfully submitted,
KAM Engineering
