JOINT BUDGET WORK SESSION WITH BOARD OF EDUCATION, APRIL 29, 1996
The Harnett County Board of Commissioners met in special session
on April 29, 1996. The meeting was a joint budget working
session with the Board of Education and was held at the School
Annex in Lil1ington, North Carolina.
Members present: H. L. Sorrell, Jr., Chairman
Beatrice Bailey Hill, Vice Chairman
Dan B. Andrews
Walt Titchener
Commissioner Joseph T. Bowden was absent. .
Staff present: Neil Emory, County Manager
Wm. A. (Tony) Wilder, Assistant County Manager
Vanessa W. Young, Finance Officer
Kay S. Blanchard, Clerk to the Board
Chairman Sorrell called the meeting to order at 7 p.m.
Betsy Sloan, Board of Education Chairman, stated that the purpose
of the special joint meeting was for presentation of Harnett
County Schools F.Y. 96-97 proposed budget and review of line
items in the budget. After introductory comments by Bob Beasley,
School Superintendent, Hank Hurd, Assistant Superintendent, led
the review of budget items in a work session format.
There being no further business, Commissioner Andrews moved to
adjourn the meeting. Commissioner Hill seconded the motion and
it passed with a unanimous vote. The Harnett County Board of
Commissioners special meeting, April 29, 1996, duly adjourned at
