(Regional Water Line on Highway 27)
The Harnett County Board of Commissioners met in special session on
Monday, September 12, 1994, in the Commissioners Meeting Room, County I
Office Building, Lillington, North Carolina.
Members present: H. L. Sorrell, Jr., Chairman
Beatrice Bailey Hill, Vice Chairman
Joseph T. Bowden
Walt Titchener
Staff present: Neil Emory, County Manager
Vanessa W. Young, Finance Officer
Kay S. Blanchard, Recording Secretary
Chairman Sorrell called the meeting to order at 9 a.m.
Rocney Tart, Director, Public Utilities, stated tha~ the purpose of
PUBLIC HEARING RE: the meeting was to obtain public comments concernin~ the Harnett
WATER SYSTEM PROJECT Co~~ty Water System Project for a regional water lir.d on Highway 27.
Hi::-'~m Marziano, President, Marziano and Minier Consu~ting Engineers,
TECHNICAL SUMMARY BY prsEepted a technical summary relative to the County's attempt to
HIRAM MARZIANO ap~:y'for State Revolving Loan funds to construct a regional water
supply line along Highway 27 into the South Central and South West
Water and Sewer Districts of Harnett County.
COMMENTS FROM PUBLIC Chairman Sorrell opened the meeting for public comments concerning the
project. Comments were received from the following citizens:
1. Jim Osbourne, Buffalo Lakes area for the project
2. Carlin Bunnell, Rt. 3, Cameron for the project
There being no further comments, Chairman Sorrell closed the public
hearing portion of the meeting. I
Commissioner Hill made a motion to move forward with the project.
ACTION BY BOARD Commissioner Bowden seconded the motion and it passed with a unanimous
vote.
