HARNETT COUNTY BeARD OF COMMISSIONERS SPECIAL MEETING, MAY 19, 1994
The Harnett County Board of Commissioners met in special session on
Thursday, May 19, 1994, in the Commissioners' Meeting Room, County
Office Building, Lillington, North Carolina.

Kay S. Blanchard, Recording Secretary
Chairman Sorrell called the meeting to order at 7 p.m. and recognized
Neil Emory, County Manager. Mr. Emory stated that the purpose of the
special meeting was to review proposed budget items for the F.Y. 94-95
Harnett County Budget.
BUDGET WORK SESSION Items were reviewed in a work session format with presentations from:

RESOLUTION RE: Commissioner Hill moved for the adoption of a resolution concerning
CDBG FUNDING FOR application for CDBG funding for proposed Shawtown Revitalization
SHAWTOWN REVITALIZA- Project. Commissioner Bowden seconded the motion and it passed with a

I Commissioner Titchener made a motion to approve the following budget

FY 94 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT APPUCATION
BE IT RESOLVm BY THE HAR~1:.11 COUNTY DOARD or COMMISSIONERS:
THAT the Hoard ot Commissioners of Harnett County hereby authorizes t,at an application
be filed for a Community Development Block Grant under the provisions of Title I of the Housing
and Community Development Act of 1974 and as amended in 1981.
THAT the Board of Conunissioners of Harnett County hereby commits $150,000 from the
general fund to be used in the Shawtown Revitalization Project.
THAT the Chairman of the Board of Commissioners is hereby authorized and directed to a~t
