The Harnett County Board of Commissioners met in special session on I
Monday, November 29, 1993, in the Commissioners Meeting Room, County
Office Building, Lillington, North Carolina.
Members present: H. L. Sorrell, Jr.
Beatrice Bailey Hill
Dan B. Andrews
Joseph T. Bowden
Walt Titchener
Staff present: Neil Emory, County Manager
Tony Wilder, Assistant County Manager
Kay S. Blanchard, Recording Secretary
JOINT MEETING WITH The special session was a joint meeting with the Harnett County
BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT AND Planning Board and the Zoning Ordinance Board of Adjustment.
PLANNING BOARD
Chairman Sorrell called the meeting to order at 7:15 p.m. and led a
discussion of planning needs in the county including the area of
"HIGHWAY 87 CORRIDOR" "Highway 87 Corridor." Options regarding implementation of zoning the
southwest portion of the county and other various planning issues were
discussed. After discussion, the following committee was appointed to
explore alternatives and options:
COMMITTEE APPOINTED Beatrice B. Hill, Board of Commissioners
Dan Andrews, Board of Commissioners
Jack Scalf, Board of Adjustment
Blount Whiteside, Board of Adjustment
Harold Martin, Planning Board
Guy Cayton, Planning Board
It was suggested that this committee report to the Board of I
Commissioners within ninety days.
ADJOURNMENT There being no further business, the Harnett County Board of
Commissioners special meeting, November 29, 1993, duly adjourned at
9:15 p.m.
