HARNETT COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS SPECIAL MEETING, MARCH 22, 1993
I The Harnett County Board of Commissioners met in special session on
Monday, March 22, 1993, in the Conference Room at the Harnett County
Library, Li1lington, North Carolina.
Members present: H. L. Sorrell, Jr., Chairman
Beatrice Bailey Hill, Vice-Chairman
Dan B. Andrews
Joseph T. Bowden
Walt Titchener
Others present: Neil Emory, County Manager
Vanessa W. Young, Finance Officer & Clerk to the Board
Chairman Sorrell called the meeting to order at 9 a.m.
APPLICANTS INTERVIEWED Commissioner Hill moved that the Board go into executive session to
FOR PUBLIC UTILITIES interview applicants for Public utilities Attorney. Commissioner Bowden
ATTORNEY seconded the motion and it passed with a unanimous vote.
Commissioner Bowden moved that the Board come out of executive session.
Commissioner Titchener seconded the motion and it passed with a
unanimous vote.
Chairman Sorrell stated that the Board would consider appointment of
AL BAIN APPOINTED NEW a new Public utilities Attorney and opened the floor for nominations.
PUBLIC UTILITIES Commissioner Bowden nominated Al Bain and Commissioner Hill nominated
ATTORNEY Ann Taylor. There being no further nominations, Commissioner Titchener
moved that the nominations be closed. Commissioner Hill seconded the
motion and it passed with a unanimous vote. Al Bain was appointed
Public Utilities Attorney with the following vote:
Al Bain: 3 Ann Taylor: 2
I There being no further business, Commissioner Bowden moved that the
ADJOURNMENT special meeting of the Harnett County Board of Commissioners,
March 22, 1993, adjourn. The meeting adjourned at 11:15 a.m.
